Lasting Memories....

In ancient Chinese Philosophy, the concept ‘Yin-Yang’ describes how seemingly opposing forces work together to create wonders.  It takes a Sun and a Moon, a summer and winter, fire and water, Mars and a Venus to make life an enjoyable one. Like the philosophy of ‘Yin-Yang’, the life at Oxford makes one to face seemingly different personalities, philosophies, doctrines, and yet all these differences are created with purpose…a purpose to serve humanity.  And it is because of this ultimate purpose that Oxford stands tall in all domains - whether it is academics, politics, business, or humanities. It’s a city like none other and its learning temple like none other. The Said Business School is an institution that embodies all the values of the City of Oxford.

The Said Business School is a new business school when compared to most European and US business schools. Yet, it has reached a prestigious status and top rankings both in the academic world and business community. I believe that the success of the business school stems from the strong commitment from both the school and the student body. The school continuously focuses on improving and updating its programs to keep up with the changes. There are a number of scholarships and loan programs available for the prospective students. Besides the core curriculum, the school creates a platform for the students to network and interact with industry leaders through seminars and distinguished speaker series.

The student body is amongst the best you can get in any business school – we have students from 40+ countries who have worked in a range of fields. They are super smart individuals who are brilliant in both academics and extracurricular. In our batch, the students won a number of case competitions and venture capital competitions held across Europe and US. In the MBA Tournament held in France, Oxford came 2nd in the overall ranking and won several sports events. To learn more about other cultures, student representatives organize dinner events, parties, and language learning sessions. The unwritten rule at Said Business School is you give more than you take!

Personally, I have had the best one-year of my life at Oxford. From walking along the Port Meadows to attending seminars on Private Equity, every moment that I spent at Oxford will be a lasting memory. If life were to offer me another chance, my first choice will be Oxford…Its serenely beautiful, intellectually smart, and built on values.  Fast forward one month, I will be in the corporate world working as a Consultant in a busy city. How I would miss the luxury of Oxford!!!

For any prospective student to Oxford MBA, my only suggestion is to come here with an open mind. There will be loads of learning and a number of interactions with seemingly different people. You will be exposed to different doctrines and philosophies. Yet, if you unpack the conundrum – there will be only one message: ‘To serve Humanity’.
